About Ottawa Punk Cover Nights
Punk Cover Nights in Ottawa started in 2008. These nights are a community thing, not run by one person, but run by the punks. We do this to pay tribute to our favourite punk bands of the past, to lose our voice from singing along to classic gems, raise money for grass-root and non-for-profit organizations and causes, and to simply rage and have fun with all of our friends! We've raised money for Exile Infoshop, Kids Help Phone, SPCA of Western Quebec, Pussy Riot Legal Defense Fund, The Tool Shed/Aids Committee of Ottawa, Teja's Animal Refuge, Friendly Giants Dog Rescue, The Door Youth Centre, Rock Camp For Girls, Campaign For Safer Consumption Sites, Ottawa Sucks: Ottawa's Underground 2002-2005, Daisy’s Drop-in Centre, Khalida Jarrar/Palestinian woman prisoners, Evelyn Young Womens Emergency Shelter, and The Ticket Defense Program (TDP).

About SAFETY Ottawa
(Support And Education For Trans Youth Ottawa) is an independent organization created and run by and for trans and gender diverse youth. We aim to bridge the gap between trans and gender diverse people of all ages, by giving them the chance to connect in a space that is free from transphobia, homophobia, heterosexism, sexism, racism, ableism, islamophobia, colonialism, and other forms of oppression. We host a drop-in space on the first Saturday and a special event on the third Saturday of each month. As a community organization, SAEFTY is committed to providing a safer space for all trans and gender diverse youth where they can meet and connect with each other in a non-medical environment. We provide positive and relatable role models to trans youth in a supportive space where they can be themselves.
