Stella Ella Ola (Royal Mountain Records) is the soundtrack to your summer BBQ. Their carefree music is a giddy, riffy trip to the beach, reminiscent of The B-52s and the Go-Gos. Leading the way is front woman Anne Douris, whose bold style and lyrics make you want to put on some sunglasses and dance the way you do when you’re at home in nothing but your underwear. This sing-along style group also includes brothers Nick and Jake Boyd as well as Vince Rice on drums. Together, they make songs that are scrappy and short, sometimes bizarre, and always fun.
Opening the evening will be a little bit of barf and sugar mixed together…. that's right Ottawa's own garage punk darlings Average Times.
