NON PROFIT BAND + Phantom Hog + more

DOORS: 9pm / Show at 10pm

Looking for something a little different? How about a Zeppelin influenced rock band fronted by an internationally aclaimed Israeli violin virtuoso? The NONPROFIT BAND sounds like an interesting project to us so we booked 'em!

(Michael Greilsammer, Uriel Sverdin and Ohad Eilam)
is a new kind of rock & roll band, but with one major twist: There's no electric guitar. Instead, the music is driven by a violin, plugged into an amplifier and pedal effects.

The band has just released its first, self-titled, album. Recorded live in Nice, France, the album was mastered on tape on an Otari Mx-5050 to give it the crunchy, 70s sound that only tape can provide.

Nonprofit Band is more than just a rock band; it is also a social project. The pioneering efforts of the band include: allowing fans to become part owners, making music available to everyone, promoting social awareness, and practicing personal dedication to the vegetarian and vegan lifestyles are prime motivators.

This summer, Nonprofit Band has toured Canada, the US, the Caribbean, France, and England, and will go on a similar tour this November.

A new rock venture fronted by legendary Ottawa superstar Warren Ste. Marie (Grave Concern, Mumbleweed, Ms Gesus). Check out this freaked out video for their song spinning to get an idea of what's going down this time around.
